The Story of an Insight


It all started with Renzo Taffarello, an insight and his ability to be able to look incredibly far ahead. Renzo has always been a privateer-one who minimizes the time between idea and implementation. Visionary heart, pragmatic head-a deadly combination for a 17-year-old aboard the Locomotive of Italy. Renzo watches, observes, reasons. He is in a store in Genoa when he sees a clerk wrapping shoes in paper and handing them to a customer who puts them under his arm. The bag, damn it, it takes a bag. Even better if personalized. Even better if I am the one doing it. Ready? Street. It begins.
The first bag, looking at it today, is ugly: brown, propylene, with two drawstrings. But all babies, let’s face it, are ugly. Renzo knows this, and with one hand he improves it, with the other he creates the company: so many square meters, so many beautiful people, so many bags coming out. Renzo sinks his foot on the accelerator, he thinks he is going fast, but he does not yet know that he is actually still in first gear.
Gear up, gear up the company. Conquer Europe with crazy innovations. One among them: matte printing. Hell of a Renzo, once again a simple idea is a brilliant idea.
Today
It is difficult to find a good customer, but it is equally difficult to find a good supplier. We are aware of this and that is why we strive, on a daily basis, to be the best supplier to our clients.
We continue to invest, in facilities and skills, by including qualified professionals in an already first-rate workforce, adding state-of-the-art machinery.
We have, recently, broadened our horizon by including in our production process also hand bags, our precious Dolce Vita line, entirely Made in Taffarello.
The company today has two production plants, one in northern Italy and one, specializing in the production of handmade shopping bags, in Romania.
Strong with its 45 thousand square meters of floor space, it has a production capacity of more than 220 million bags per year, distributed worldwide.
